Sheridan County, SCSD#1 Agree on MOU for SRO – Sheridan Media

During their regular meeting Tuesday, the Sheridan County Commission voted to approve and accept a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Sheridan County School, District #1 for the sheriff’s office to provide a School Resource Officer (SRO) for the 2021-22 Academic School Year. Sheriff Alan Thompson said the program is not only important to the school district, but to the community as well. District Business Manager Jeremy Smith said the SRO is one new need of many in today’s educational system. According to Smith, the district will fund the SRO program at about an 83% reimbursement to the county for the services to cover the cost of salary and benefits for the SRO, plus an additional $5,000 per calendar year to cover additional expenses.
