KETCHIKAN (KDN) â Ketchikanâs Christmas spirit is on display, with judges for the 2020 Christmas Home Lighting Contest reporting seeing more decorated residences than in years past.
There are ânumerous streets with 25% to 40% (of residences) decorated with Christmas lights,â according to information from the contest thatâs co-sponsored by AARP Local 1825 and IBEW Local 1547.
âDecks and handrails were decorated with lots of strings of lights â more so than past years â as were other areas with strings of lightsâ such as driveways and steps up to the home, lights around front doors, lights showing the outline of all or part of the home, outdoor trees made into Christmas trees with lights, according to the contest information, which also noted an increased number of Nativity scenes.
