VINELAND, New Jersey (WPVI) A South Jersey community is mourning the loss of a father and daughter whose lives were claimed by COVID-19
Sheree Coccaro, 62, who was a 27-year member of the Vineland Public School District, and her father, Charles Scarpa, 89, both recently died from the coronavirus. I would tell her, I m so sorry I couldn t help her, said Sheree s husband, Peter Coccaro. She knew I would have been there the whole time. I would have never left her side.
As the Coccaro family was grieving Sheree s loss on Friday, her father died just two days later.
On Thursday, Peter sat in his wife s office at Thomas Wallace Middle School mourning.

Covid-19 has caused a great loss in one Vineland family, after a daughter and her father died of the virus within two days of one another.
Sheree Coccaro, 62, a security guard at Thomas Wallace Middle School in Vineland, died from coronavirus on Friday at Inspira Medical Center.

According to the Vineland Daily Journal, her father, Charles J. Scarpa Jr., a retired electrician and Vineland volunteer firefighter, died of the virus on Sunday.
Her obituary says Sheree Coccara worked with the Vineland Board of education for 26 years at various schools as a security officer, most recently at the Wallace School.
VINELAND - Sheree Coccaro, a 27-year member of the Vineland Public School District family, died Friday after a battle with COVID-19.
Two days later, the virus claimed her father, Charles J. Scarpa Jr., a retired electrician and Vineland volunteer firefighter.
“I don t think I can say a prayer big enough to cover my cousins who have lost so much this weekend with the comfort and strength they will need to move forward,” wrote Robert Scarpa of Vineland in a Facebook post.
Sheree Coccaro launched her Vineland Public School career in 1993 taking a job as a playground aide. Six years later, she joined the school’s security crew where she made her mark.
