PETA has sent a letter to Shenandoah County Commonwealth’s Attorney Amanda Wiseley asking her to look into abuse allegations at an area poultry plant and file criminal charges against the facility and responsible workers.
Armed with U.S. Department of Agriculture reports revealing more than 25-hundred chickens froze to death at the George’s processing plant near Edinburg, PETA sent a letter to Shenandoah County Commonwealth’s Attorney Amanda Wiseley urging her to review the matter and file charges against the facility and responsible workers.
In the letter, PETA says that a Food Safety and Inspection Service agent was contacted in May of last year that birds had died in a pair of trailers when overnight temperatures had dropped into the 30’s.
