Friends of the Jacksboro Animal Shelter are looking to build a new shelter.
It’s a needed thing, as a recent agreement between the city of Jacksboro and Jack County officials has given Animal Control Officer Mike Booher the ability to go out in the county to pick up animals. The present shelter has room for about 20 dogs.
Friends of the Shelter President Starr Kinder has been involved with the shelter for 20 years. Kinder told Jacksboro Lions Club members, July 28, the new shelter will be built in front of the old shelter on U.S. Hwy. 380 West, at an estimated cost of $500,000.
