LOS ANGELES, Calif â California Animal Welfare Funders Collaborative (CAWFC) are now helping homeless pets across the state. They recently awarded $300,000 in grants to animal shelters hoping to help homeless pets get the help they need. Last year was an untraditional year in our stateâs animal shelters. By taking our COVID-19 operating learnings and applying them to our ânew normalâ, weâre seeing services improving for both the people and pets in our communities across California. Karen Wells is the Secretary and Librarian of Georgetown Elementary. The students there absolutely love her and feel if she werenât at the school it would suffer a great loss.
Karen grew up in Georgetown, the daughter of Doug and Shelly Thompson. She graduated from Bear Lake High School in 1995. While in high school, she was a member of the Honor Society and was on the drill team.
After high school, Karen attended Rickâs College after which she married Kevin Wells, also of Georgetown. Kevin is the Ag teacher at Bear Lake High School and Bishop of the Georgetown LDS Second Ward. Karen is the Activity Days Leader of the Primary girls ages 8 to 11.
