Dayton City Manager Shelly Dickstein speaking about the grant.
Dayton officials are asking city residents for their input on how to use funds from the federal American Rescue Plan. The city is expected to receive almost a 140 million dollars overall, making it the largest grant in Dayton’s history.
The city has agreed on a rough framework for how the money will be spent. Their current plan focuses on neighborhood revitalization, catalytic projects, city amenities and projects, and external awards to support industries hit hard by the pandemic. However, the city is still waiting for more federal guidance on how exactly the money can be used.
