There are fewer than 200 intensive care beds left in the entire state of arizona. Now fears that the spike is dangerously coming back into the midwest. Ohios governor mandating masks in what he calls seven red hot counties warning people they should be quote frightened. Lets begin in california with my colleague, rosa flores. Tell us more about what the hospitals are facing again this morning. Poppy, good morning. Theres a lot of concern from local leaders and experts here in Miamidade County and across this state quite frankly. 56 icu hospitals across the state in 25 different counties have zero capacity. That means they do not have more icu beds. That includes eight right here in Miamidade County where i am. Another 35 icu hospitals have bed availability of 10 or less. You are familiar with the fact that california is moving to a managed care model for health care deliveriy and in San Francisco, that means that health care for people on medical, and for people on medical and medicare will be managed care. In San Francisco there are two plans that are responsible for providing that health care delivery. One is San Francisco health plan and one is anthem bluecross. San Francisco Health plan is the nonprofit provider and anthem bluecross is the forprofit provider. In San Francisco we have the twoplan model. For those people who are seniors and people with disabilities on medical only, those people have already moved into managed care and have seen how it works or doesnt work. We have had a lot of challenges with that over the past year or two. In the next couple of years, people who are duly eligible, on medical and medicare at the same time will be entering into that systemment on one hand its kind of scary because we saw to people with
Largely what will happen. The can time sheet processing facility is much more sensitive than our staff are in terms of things that it doesnt like. For example, you cant write in any other kind of pen besides black ink. And you cant stick a sticky note onto the time sheet. And you cant fold the time sheet. Various, little persnickety things that are bad design in my opinion. [ laughter ] a lot of those rejected time sheets will all come to us, but they come back to us quickly and electronically. Well see an electronic image and then well be able to look at it and again, we do the same thing. If we can pay it out, we will before we have to involve any provider. If you do have to get a replacement time sheet were talking another couple of days then. Exactly. And the mail . That is what were trying to avoid, as much as possible.
