Special to The Ledger
FRANKLIN TWP. Under the Stars continues at the Red Barn Theatre this weekend with the second in the series, Red Barn Bandstand.
Take a musical journey back to saddle shoes and circle skirts with songs from the 1950s and 60s. Close your eyes and remember those days as Janaya Daniel sings Ella Fitzgerald s Dream a Little Dream and Ryan Lubin sings John Denver s unforgettable Leaving on a Jet Plane.
When Sue Ann Atkin and Lauranne Ferrara sing Bye Bye Love, which the Everly Brothers made famous, you can remember a long-lost love but not feel sad but be happy when Andrea and Shelly Cary sing Happy Days are Here Again. It s an evening of nostalgia and a little wistfulness.
Red Barn Players team with 4 theater groups on virtual play
FRANKLIN TWP. The Red Barn Players hope to get you feeling festive as they roll out another virtual production, this time partnered with four other theaters.
The northern Beaver County theater group has pooled talents with New Castle Playhouse, Youngstown Playhouse, Area Community Theatre of Sharpsville and Greenville Area Community Theatre (G-ACT) for a fundraising Christmas concert presented online Dec. 16 through Dec. 31. Regional Theatre Christmas Celebration: A Virtual Collaboration debuts at 7 p.m. Wednesday, and will feature Christmas songs performed by members of each troupe, viewable at RaiseTheCurtains.org. Each theater also will post links on its website and FaceBook page.
