MIDDLEBORO It was revealed at the January 14 Middleborough School Committee meeting that the highly-anticipated move-in date for the new Middleborough High School building would be delayed until at least April.
Completion of the new high school building has been delayed due to an outbreak of positive cases of COVID-19 reported on the job site, according to Superintendent Brian Lynch.
Lynch stated that work has slowed to a grinding pace” at the site due to numerous sub-contractors contracting the virus.
“Tradesmen are coming from all over. There’s been significant spread between workers,” explained Lynch.
Lynch also stated, as was highlighted at a recent High School Building Committee meeting building, delays have also been the result of reduced management and working crews being allowed on site, as well as shipping and manufacturing delays.
