PUERTO PLATA, Dominican Republic – After the restart of the PGA TOUR Latinoamérica last week in Miami, the Tour travels to here this week to celebrate a new edition of the Puerto Plata Open. This will be the fourth time Playa Dorada Golf Course has hosted a tournament on a PGA TOUR Latinoamérica schedule.
Additionally, with this week’s tournament, the Dominican Republic remains one of the five countries that has hosted at least one tournament in each season since the creation of PGA TOUR Latinoamérica in 2012.

DORAL, Florida MJ Maguire made birdies on his opening two holes during the final round of the Shell Open, and while the third-round leader had a few nervous moments coming down the stretch Sunday, Maguire never trailed and eventually won his first PGA TOUR Latinoamérica title by two strokes over Argentina’s Andrés Gallegos at Trump National Doral’s Golden Palm Course.

DORAL, Florida To take a three-shot lead into the final round of the Shell Open, American MJ Maguire had to make a slippery, downhill, seven-footer on his final hole of Saturday’s third round, a putt he needed for double bogey. Maguire calmly drained the putt, and that left him with a 5-under 66 that put him at 12-under for the tournament. He holds that three-stroke advantage over fellow American John Somers. Argentina’s Andrés Gallegos and American Chris Wiatr both shot 69s at Trump National Doral’s Golden Palm Course on Saturday, and they’re tied for third, at 8-under, four shots behind Maguire.

DORAL, Florida Korn Ferry Tour regular Shad Tuten opened his round on the back nine at Trump National Doral’s Golden Palm Course on Thursday, and he immediately bogeyed the hole and picked up another bogey on his fourth hole of the day. Despite the slow start, it was a birdie fest after that as Tuten shot a 6-under 65 under calm conditions to assume a one-shot lead over Colombia’s Santiago Gomez at the Shell Open, PGA TOUR Latinoamérica’s first tournament since it postponed its season in mid-March. Five players Spain’s Mario Beltrán, Argentina’s Andrés Gallegos and Americans Sam Stevens, Chris Wiatr and John Clare are all tied for third, two shots behind Tuten.
