Woodside Petroleum investors are questioning the timing of a CEO transition at the company ahead of critical decisions on multibillion-dollar investments after Peter Coleman suddenly advised he will retire in the second half of 2021.
The shake-up at the top executive rank of Australia s biggest oil and gas producer comes as Woodside is targeting a go-ahead on its $16 billion Scarborough gas project in Western Australia also in the December half next year, potentially after Mr Coleman has exited.
Woodside Petroleum chief executive Peter Coleman will step down in the December half of 2021.
