They manufacture school and office supplies, and are typically expanding their workforce at this time of year in preparation for the back to school season. “What is happening in the labor market is really putting a squeeze on us,” said Rucker. He says that he could easily take on another 30 seasonal employees to help with production or distribution. ACCO also has a program that offers summer employment to college students and recent graduates. He says that he’s seeing fewer applications for those positions as well, and could hire another 15 or more workers.
