The new committee will play a critical role in developing the Merrillville Momentum comprehensive plan by working with town officials and planners to plans for the next 20 years.
The Council Affairs Committee is examining more than a dozen topics, including recreational vehicle parking on residential properties, use of portable basketball goals, and parking of semi tractor-trailers.
The general fund is expected to receive more than $8.2 million through taxes alone, but it also receives money through building permits and various licenses required in town.
