More than 140 pay tribute to popular Watford greengrocer

Thank you also for sharing so many memories with us on that sad day. To remember such an amazing life with tears and laughter would have been our Dad’s wish – and sharing time with us after to ‘have a drink on Jim’ again, this was his wish. Jim married Joan Evans in 1948 and they had five children together: Terry, Julie, Linda, Tommy and Sandra. The Fox family moved to Sheepcot Lane in 1951, and although Joan passed away in March 1997, Jim remained at the family home until his death. Jim’s family had a long history of trading as greengrocers in Watford Market, and this is where Jim worked for almost 35 years after his times as a Royal Fusilier, where he was dispatched to Egypt, the Wester Desert, Sudan and Italy.
