Millcreek Community Hospital nurse from Philippines finds home in Erie

Like many nurses, Rose Beale has possessed a passion for helping others from a young age. That passion has led her from her native Philippines to the operating room at Millcreek Community Hospital. Influenced by a family who served in medicine, Beale pursued a career in nursing. Fresh out of school, looking to help her family financially and escape the Philippines where, in her words, “life isn’t the easiest,” Beale took a position as an operating room nurse in a military hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It was there she met her future husband, Michael, an Erie native serving in the U.S. Army.

COMMON Good land on the edge of Nairn at the centre of a row between Highland Council and a local community council has now been identified as the preferred site for major expansion in the town in a new report. Just as the Nairn West and Suburban Community Council lodged their objections to the proposed marketing of the 23-hectare Sandown Lands, the publication of the proposed new Inner Moray Firth Local Development Plan (IMFLDP) adds fuel to an already heated debate.
