able to go much longer without weighing in on this in some form or fashion because reporters like me and others on capitol hill are gonna continue to pressure him by tomorrow. it s that usually scheduled senate leader leadership conference, and it takes place just outside the chamber usually on tuesday s, and you can bet he s gonna be asked a question about that. there is a political expediency here to mitch mcconnell staying out of this as long as possible. he s not a fan of donald trump. he has no interest in joining kind of the talking points that we saw from kevin mccarthy, the house speaker, and other republicans, criticizing the department of judge s justice, and suggesting there are two tiers of justice in this country. that is something that mitch mcconnell is likely to engage in, but at the same time, he doesn t want to enrage that trump base.
