US authorities have arrested on Monday night the driver of a truck that crashed into security barriers in Lafayette Square, next to the White House. A witness told Reuters investigators found a flag with a Nazi swastika that apparently came from inside the truck. Some roads and pedestrian crossings in the area have been sealed as a result of the incident. The Hay Adams hotel has been evacuated at the request of the Secret Service, reports the 'Washington Post', citing a hotel official. "The driver may have intentionally hit the safety barriers," says the U.S. Secret Service.
