Big Bob’s Adds Furniture Big Bob’s Adds Furniture Kansas City, MO, July 1 Some area home furnishing stores have struggled to compete with Nebraska Furniture Mart. But one home furnishings company is expanding to try to take some of Nebraska Furniture Mart’s business, according to the Kansas City Star.
David Elyachar, who built a retail empire with discounted carpet, is opening a store to sell discounted furniture. Big Bob’s Furniture Outlet is importing new furniture from China and other countries, buying closeouts from manufacturers, and shopping bankruptcies and liquidations to offer customers low prices.
It has about 5,000 pieces in stock at 10021 W. 75th St., Overland Park, but inventory and styles will constantly change as new lines come in.

As leaders at LMH Health look ahead to 2021, they expect the pandemic to have eased greatly by the second half of the year and for finances at the not-for-profit hospital to be on an upswing.
But they aren’t expecting it to be a year without threats. LMH will be on the lookout for competitors from the both the east and west to get more aggressive in the Lawrence market.
“The past practice of being able to be kind of like Switzerland and play everything in the middle and maintain positive and harmonious relationships with four or five health care organizations is probably limited,” Russ Johnson, president and CEO of LMH Health, told the hospital’s board of trustees Wednesday.
