We are live outside the holiday inn express, and we are hearing that the hazmat team is on the scene. Reporter much quieter than it was. But there was an impressive response right after firefighters got the call, because they werent sure how many people might need help, considering this is the entire hotel when some people complained of being bothered by a pepper spray type smell. So when people first arrived at the site, they evacuated the building. They had burning throats and eyes from something in the hallway. One treated with nonlifethreatening injuries. Two hazmat teams went through the building with gas monitors to see if they could find a cause. Ultimately, they didnt find anything, but we did ventilate the structure with our own fans and switched the of system to bring in a lot of fresh air into the building.
