AUBURN Edward Little got caught in St. Dom’s offensive deluge in a girls lacrosse game on a rainy Wednesday afternoon.
Downpours made conditions less than ideal for both teams, but the Saints (2-2) still found the open net and sailed off with a 17-3 victory over the Red Eddies.
The Saints moved fast despite a waterlogged field, scoring three quick goals in the first half. Junior Emma Roy punched in her first of three goals to spark St. Dom’s offense. She was followed by back-to-back goals by Taryn Cloutier, who led all scorers with five.

The area girls lacrosse scene has grown by two teams, though both had to wait an extra year to make their varsity debuts after last spring’s season was wiped out because of COVID-19.
Gray-New Gloucester/Poland and Mt. Blue will both compete in the statewide Class B, and with every team qualifying for the postseason this season, that means there is a chance the two newcomers face off in the playoffs.
