Appleby struggled to get any momentum in its chase and lost wickets too regularly on the way to being bowled out for 143. Waikoikoi further strengthened its position at the top of the ILT Premier League standings on Satuday but Southland Boys’ High School did provide the country club with a fright in the game played at Waikoikoi. Waikoikoi posted 201 batting first on the back of half-centuries from Jared McKenzie (61) and Hamish Cooke (53), while Bruno Burgess took four wickets with the ball. In reply player/coach Hamish Skelt (51) and Aaron Hart (45) pushed the pupils into a winning position at 110 for two at one stage.
