A CHARITY that supports people with learning disabilities has been commissioned to deliver stunning displays to welcome visitors and staff to the new Sunderland City Hall. Non-for-profit community interest company Bishopwearmouth Cooperative has been asked by Sunderland City Council to grow a range of plants ready for the building opening in September. City Hall will be the workplace of around 2,000 workers from the council and support organisations such as the DWP (Department for Work & Pensions) and Sunderland College and is part of Legal & General s £100m Riverside development. The charity s managing director Shaun Donnelly said: “I am so proud that my fantastic team will be delivering flowers that will be pride of place in a stunning new building accessed by many thousands of residents every day.
