LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday disposed of a petition of PML-N MPA Sohail Shaukat Butt and directed the police not to cause any harassment to him.
The opposition party leader had approached the court against the alleged harassment and raids conducted by police at his residence.
Through senior lawyer Khalid Ranjha, Butt had contended that the police had been causing undue harassment to him purely on political grounds. He said police officials had violated the sanctity of his residence and outhouse by conducting raids.

Adviser to the Prime Minister on Interior and Accountability Mirza Shahzad Akbar said on Sunday that the government had retrieved 8,085 acres of illegally occupied state land worth Rs210 billion through reclamation operations against the
qabza mafia in Punjab.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Akbar also revealed the names of 36 politicians affiliated with the PML-N, who he alleged were either complicit with the land grabbers or directly part of the mafia.

LAHORE: Police raided the house of PML-N ex-MNA Sohail Shaukat Butt in Cantt area and allegedly harassed him and his family.
Mr Shaukat filed an application with the DIG Operations levelling allegations of manhandling him and harassing his family members by the police.
He alleged that over 200 police personnel made their forced entry into his residence at Bhaseen village near Batapur.
The heavily equipped policemen broke the main door and resorted to massive firing, terrifying him, his family members and the people living in the surroundings.
