Donation to COVID unit at St Lawrence Health Systems

Tuesday, April 6, 2021 - 6:21 am The North Country Children’s Museum’s Board of Directors donated 100 copies of Out and About in the North Country Guidebook to the COVID unit at St. Lawrence Health Systems and local rescue squad members. The Out and About Guidebook details indoor and outdoor places to go and things to do in the region for children, families, and everyone! The book is available for sale through the children’s museum’s website, at Kinney Drugs, Brewer Bookstore, Clarkson University Bookstore, and other area locations. Potsdam park filled with snowmen, ice sculptures

Other family members who built the snowman were Owen, Isaac, Nick, and Megan. NCNow photo POTSDAM – Ives Park was abuzz with activity as about two dozen teams were busy building snow creatures February 20. The snow creations included snowmen adorned with spring flowers and Monarch butterflies, beach attire and Mardi Gras décor. Among other sculptures were a Mars rover, dragon, rhinoceros and a duck family. Although there was an abundance of snow, many participants used water to pack together the difficult, fluffy snow. Also used were dyes and miscellaneous accessories to add creativity and color to their creations.

Wednesday, January 20, 2021 - 9:02 am POTSDAM The North Country Children s Museum was awarded a $3,000 grant to support education programs such as science, tech, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM). Weekend family programs and early childhood programs during the week are included with membership and admission. We re grateful to the Corning Incorporated Foundation supporting these important educational programs,” said NCCM Executive Director Sharon Vegh Williams.” The Children s Museums offers discounted, needs-based memberships for low-income families. The cost is $25 per family for the year and allows for unlimited entry to the museum and participation in drop-in family programs. Inquire about discounted memberships at the museum s front desk.
