rough terrain when they fell. a popular florida beach is back open after shark shiethings shut it down over the weekend. swimmers at co co beach were ordered out of the water when they spotted sharks out of shore. later that night a young boy was bitten but not seriously hurt. the beach was also closed on sunday due to a shark threat. they are absolutely giddy about the two brand new banta twins. they are healthy and will soon spend quality time with mom. we are excited. we are hap tee to be here. so are the panda cubings. 50 percent of the time you can expect twins. twins with no names yet and waiting on the sex to be revealed.
consequences that we re facing in the ocean world that s an unexplored place, we need to be able to educate the public in a fun and interesting way. okay, there s nothing the public wants to be educated on more about the oceans than the shark threat. okay? of course. this is steven spielberg set this up for us. we ve had a recent shark attack on manhattan beach, in california not far from where i live. and something like that happens and people just some people stay away from the water for years. right. what s the rational reaction? it s an emotional reaction. obviously, it s a dramatic thing that happens. by and large, sharks stay away from us. think about it. we have millions of sharks in the same waters that hundreds of millions of people bathe in every single day of the summer, and yet there are fewer than 80 shark incidents worldwide every year. you re much more likely to get hurt or killed crossing the street in new york city. what is your next big project? we
continue to discover. but then there s all the modern damages that are happening to especially in sea lanes and to coral reeves that are anywhere near human beings, who just have a very bad way of destroying these things. unfortunately, human impact is a major factor in what we see today in our oceans. the oceans have changed dramatically over the last 50, 60 years. between climate change related issues as well as pollution and all those things. but it s a story of outreach and hope. and in order to be able to get people to understand the dire consequences that we re facing in the ocean world that s an unexplored place, we need to be able to educate the public in a fun and interesting way. okay, there s nothing the public wants to be educated on more about the oceans than the shark threat. okay? of course. this is steven spielberg set this up for us.
also the seal population is huge in this area. i came back from this area last night and there s lots of seals and the population has been growing a lot. you may remember last summer, five great whites were spotted off the coast of chatham. there s a seal population in that area and the coast guard is saying you need to be careful, when you re swimming the waters and they always tell people don t swim near the seals. people like to swim near the seals. that s lunch if you re a great white shark and a great white shark expert is going to join us and tell us how concerned we should be about this shark threat that is looming in the waters out there. rick: and we need to talk to this expert. last summer the seals went away and everybody like where did the seals go and they left because the sharks came in. now the seals are back. we ll see what that means. the troubling case of a missing seven-year-old, how his stepmom may be connected to the case. we ll tell you. martha: this is an unn
