Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. has signed long-term gas sales agreements with two industrial firms as the UAE seeks gas self-sufficiency with the help of international oil companies working on various field developments in OPEC’s third largest producer. ADNOC signed the 10-year agreements with Emirates Steel and construction company Arkan, it said in a statement .

Eni signed an exploration and production sharing agreement for Block 7, which spans an area of 430 sq km in Ras Al Khaimah, it said. The company will act as operator of the block with 90% participating interest and RAK Gas holding the remainder. The presence of the existing gas processing facilities in the emirate [of Ras Al Khaimah] would also allow a rapid development of any discoveries, the statement said.
Eni already operates in Ras Al Khaimah one of seven emirates that make up the UAE federation in Offshore Block A where preparations for drilling operations have started, it added.
