Full digital transformation is a key investment area for Sharjah

They were gathered at the inaugural edition of “NexTech: The Formula for Digital Transformation Excellence”, a new technology initiative designed by Sahab Smart Solutions, which seeks to highlight exciting new possibilities in digital transformation for the emirate’s government departments. The number of fire-related incidents in Sharjah fell by more than half to 130 thanks to increased inspections and awareness campaigns in the emirate last year.
Fires fell 56 per cent from 299 in 2019, to 130 in 2020.
No deaths were recorded in 2020, compared to two fire-related mortalities in 2019.
After a spate of fires in industrial areas in 2019, blazes in those zones now make up less than 10 per cent of the total incidents in the emirate.

Sharjah Civil Defence said that adding six vehicles to their fleet has cut the average response time to four minutes and forty one seconds.
Ajman: A fire broke out at a factory manufacturing refrigerators and air-conditioning equipment in Ajman’s new industrial area on Tuesday afternoon, said Brigadier General Mohammad Ali Jumeirah, Director of the Centres Administration. No casualties were reported. Firefighters arrived at the site within five minutes and brought the fire under control with assistance from Sharjah Civil Defence.
Fortunately, the factory was closed at the time the fire broke out and the damage was limited to only 30 per cent of its contents, with no deaths or injuries reported. Two adjacent residential buildings were evacuated to ensure the safety of the residents.
Khorfakkan: Khorfakkan Civil Defence managed to douse a fire that had erupted in a transformer located at a residential area in Khorfakkan. No casualties were reported.
Police Operations Room received a call at 9.15pm on Saturday about the fire. Civil Defence said quick response helped avert a major danger as firefighters controlled the blaze and prevented it from spreading to the neighbouring premises. A Civil Defence official added that the site has been handed over to the police to determine the cause of the fire. Power was disconnected for a while in the affected area.
