Since a student’s TikTok video about her teacher who allegedly joked and trivialised rape went viral on Twitter recently, Malaysian celebrities have come forward to lend their support to the teen.
TV host Uyaina Arshad is the latest Malaysian artiste to get on social media on the subject.
She wrote on her twitter: “Rape Is Not Okay! Rape is Never Okay!”

The hashtag ended up appearing among the top 10 trending topics in Malaysia last weekend, and public figures not only shared her tweet but their own stories as well.
Ms Ain was also praised for her courage.Â

Singer Daiyan Trisha said, âWe are behind you Ain, and we thank you for your bravery to speak your truth. Fight the good fight â be loud and fearless! Iâm so proud of you.â
But the teenagerâs stand has not gone without blowback, even from her male classmates.

The TikToker, posting from her @ant33ater account, has drawn nearly a million views in the three days since it’s been on the platform.

She started off by saying a male teacher was talking to her class about sexual harassment, initially making jokes that she didn’t find troublesome. However, things took a turn for the worse.

KUALA LUMPUR, Apr 26 Hashtag #MakeSchoolASaferPlace has set Twitter abuzz and appeared among the top 10 trending topics in the country with even celebrities sharing their personal stories of sexual harassments.
This comes after teenager Ain Husniza Saiful Nizam on Saturday made a simple video on TikTok and posted it on Twitter in which she voiced concerns about her teacher’s rape jokes.
