The Oregon Shakespeare Festival announced today Anyania (Ahn-ya-nigh-ah) Muse will become its Director of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) on April 12, 2021. In this newly evolved role, Muse will join OSF s leadership team, providing vision and strategy for the integration of IDEA into all facets of OSF s operations. Muse will design, communicate, execute and monitor programs and initiatives that actively promote and foster a radically inclusive culture that is an anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-homophobic, and anti-ableist at the company.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) joins Black Realities, Artizen, and Tribeca Film Festival to sponsor the Black Realities Creative Grant (BRG). For this Tribeca edition of the grant, BRG partnered with Tribeca to support the winning project with a world premiere at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival within its Immersive programs section. The winning project will also have the opportunity to premiere on OSF s digital platform O!. All formats, genres, and categories of screen-based projects will be considered including films, episodic programs, games, apps, VR/AR/XR immersive experiences, photojournalism, and more.

Play On Shakespeare’s mission is to enhance the understanding of Shakespeare’s plays in performance for theatre professionals, students, teachers, and audiences by engaging with contemporary translations and adaptations. In the fall of 2015, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival announced a new commissioning program called
Play on! 36 playwrights translate Shakespeare. The project was simple yet enthusiastically ambitious in its original conception: to commission 36 playwrights to translate 39 plays attributed to Shakespeare into contemporary, modern English over the course of three years.
