Three local women to be honored May 21
LaShawn Cunningham was recently voted in as a board member of the Norwich Arts Center Board of Directors.

“The 100 Women of Color” will honor three women who are well-known in the Norwich area and are also affiliated with the Norwich Arts Center. LaShawn Cunningham, Laura DelGado-Clemons and Sharece Sellem will be honored at a gala designed to honor those amongst us who have had a positive impact in their communities.

The Breaking Wave Theatre Company is accepting original works for their annual production of Unspoken, a series that explore mental health, substance abuse and suicide prevention, according to a news release.
The 2021 production Unspoken; Volume III - Reaching Across will be presented in September, which coincides with Suicide Prevention Month.
“With mental health, substance abuse, and suicide prevention, there are so many ways to discuss and process these conversations,” said Joyce Torres, director for Unspoken. “We hope that the series can explore and express these topics in a way that is illuminating, empathetic, and ultimately healing.”
