Jim Boylen created a lot of noise. That is to say he hollered quite a bit and very little of it made sense but what I mean is it’s hard to tell which of the Bulls’ young talents are worth a damn, because they were toiling under a coach who flailed like a gym teacher arguing before the Supreme Court. No one has ever been so pleased to see Billy Donovan’s widow’s peaked visage as Lauri Markkanen, Coby White and Wendell Carter Jr. are. Billy D’s a pro who speaks in complete sentences rather than Chris Farley freakouts, and his players typically like him. For the Bulls, a patient demeanor and baseline level of competence on the sidelines is a big step up.

It had to.
There were masks and empty seats and a digital roar in place of the one 19,000 strong usually makes here. But in the Utah Jazz’s first game on their home court in nine months, it didn’t take long to catch glimpses of the familiar.
There was Donovan Mitchell scoring early.
There was Bojan Bogdanovic splashing 3s.
There was Jordan Clarkson catching fire, Rudy Gobert patrolling the paint, and Joe Ingles finding Derrick Favors for an easy bucket.
“Everybody’s going through it. The circumstances are unique. There are a lot of people that have done a lot of work to allow us this opportunity,” Jazz head coach Quin Snyder said. “But when you get on the floor, it’s worth it. I think everybody’s excited about the opportunity to play and appreciates that we get to do this when there are a lot of people hurting in our country right now. If there’s something we can do to lift spirits, we want to do that.”

1. Jazz took a bundle of threes
Of course it’s folly to take huge conclusions from one preseason game, and that applies this season as much as any other. It’s one game really, the starters only played one half and within one half, anything can happen.
The NBA season is back!
To start the preseason the Utah Jazz will take on the Phoenix Suns. For the Jazz this will be a chance to leave their disappointing finish in the first round of the playoffs behind them.
For Phoenix they are coming into the season with a new-look roster featuring Chris Paul at point guard. They also brought in Jae Crowder who will bring an additional veteran presence. This Suns team is one of the more hyped teams in the league and should be a lot of fun to watch as the season progresses to see how good they can be.
