A motorcyclist was killed and a driver arrested in an accident Tuesday evening on Morganton Road.
Justice Shapson Ferreira, 24, of the 4600 block of Duncastle Road, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 9:38 p.m. wreck near Evanston Street.
Ferreira, according to the Fayetteville Police Department, lost control of his 2003 Suzuki GSX-R600, causing him to fall and slide into oncoming lanes of travel.
After falling, a 2006 Toyota Camry, driven by Carol James Allen, struck Ferreira and then allegedly fled scene, police said.
Allen, 68, of the 7300 block of Navarro Street, is charged with felony hit-and-run. He was released on an unsecured $25,000 bail, according to a news release from the Fayetteville Police Department.
