All-ASA and ARF Shant Student Association Stand in Solidarity with Protestors in Armenia

ARF Shant Student Organization and All-ASA GLENDALE The All-Armenian Student Association and ARF Shant Student Association stand in solidarity with the ARF Nigol Aghbalian Student Association and the Armenian Youth Federation in Armenia in their opposition protest following the tripartite peace agreement the Armenian government entered into with the governments of Russia and Azerbaijan. The current government, which came to power in a wave of protests in 2018, has made bold promises to protect the rights of the people. We urge the government to respect the civil liberties of those making demands publicly. At this critical juncture, censorship and arrest of opposition political leaders shall not be tolerated. Dissent is a critical aspect of democracy and we call on the government to uphold the democratic values they represent.
