“We can’t wait to compete at Morgan Park and showcase some of the best Australian circuit
racing for those in the Warwick region,” Mr Smith said.
“Together with SDRC and Morgan Park, we know this event will be a great success and we are extremely grateful to everyone at the council for their support in making this event a reality.
“Given the nature of this event, we know it will have a real community feel and we look
forward to embracing that.”
The rebranded Shannons event was slated to hit Warwick last year, but was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
New date for TCR Australia round at Phillip Island set
2 months ago
Motorsport Australia has confirmed the postponed TCR Australia round at Phillip Island will now take place across March 12-14, having originally been slated for this coming weekend.
Delayed due to Victoria going into a five-day lockdown to avoid another COVID-19 wave, Motorsport Australia announced on Friday last week that this weekend’s round would be delayed as interstate teams would be unable to travel into the southern state.
Motorsport Australia Championships Director Michael Smith says he’s thankful for those working at Phillip Island to be able to secure the new date so quickly and that the round will hopefully go ahead with fans in attendance.
