Northern Star DeKALB – NIU Outdoor Adventures and the staff of NIU’s Lorado Taft Campus in Oregon, IL will host a series of monthly Nature Ed. classes. The first, about the winter activities of NIU’s wildlife, will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at NIU’s West Lagoon. Taught by Shannon Forney, Assistant Program Coordinator at Lorado Taft, the first class will cover identifying local animals, tracking them and discovering their activities during the winter, Forney said.  The purpose of these classes is not only to help students and local citizens learn more about DeKalb’s nature but also to display the kind of programming Lorado Taft offers as part of their Outdoor Education program.
