SALISBURY, Md. – Delmar alum Shane Leatherbury has signed a contract to play with the BC Lions in the Canadian Football League.
Leatherbury continues his pro career after losing out on a roster spot with the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals earlier in the year. He had been signed by the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent.
Despite the short stint with the Cardinals the receiver says he gained a lot of knowledge from coaches, as well as the other receivers on the team including future hall of famer Larry Fitzgerald, and all-pro DeAndre Hopkins.
Despite the setback, Leatherbury continued to work hard in the gym, and says the support from his close family and friends was critical.
