　　1942年，中国人民抗日战争进入最艰苦的岁月，由于敌伪军的扫荡，山东抗日根据地遭到严重分割和封锁，亟需建立通信联络。 　　于是，山东省战时邮务总局应运而生。该局主要承担传递党内文件、信件和报刊，沟通各根据地之间以及山东与中央的联系，护送干部穿越封锁线、运送重要物资，保障党政军通信畅通等任务；同时开辟了通往胶东、渤海等12条省内主要交通干线，形成纵横交错的战时邮务通信网。 　　在战火纷飞的峥嵘岁月里，两千多名战邮先辈听党话、跟党走，与人民同呼吸、共命运，克服一切艰难险阻，奔走在传递邮件的“生死邮路”上，为挽救民族危亡、实现民族独立和人民解放，作出了巨大贡献。 　　 战邮英烈墙诠释了战邮先辈们忠贞不渝、不负重托的信念。 　　1945年2月，他在泰山山前村遭遇敌人，寡不敌众，腹
