2nd night of Alachua County Empowerment Revival features youth panel discussion about conflict resolution at DaySpring Baptist Church in NE Gainesville
Williams Elementary School students received a bounty of attention and gifts from the community last Thursday just in time for Christmas.
Three Girl Scouts of the Gateway Council working on their Silver Award project built three “Little Library” boxes and filled them with books for first grade classes at Williams.
Earlier in the day, First Missionary Baptist Church gave 10 students brand new shiny bicycles.
The girls in Girl Scout Troop 2387 of Gainesville have been working tirelessly on their Silver Award literacy project. They built Little Libraries using wooden crates for their adopted first grade classes. The girls in the project, all freshmen in high school, are Kristen Cooper of P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School, Shanaya Brown of Gainesville High School and Rosemary Peine, who is homeschooled.
