OKLAHOMA CITY -
The FBI delivered a prestigious award to an Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agent for her efforts in solving a 2012 homicide.
William Cooksey, 44, was found dead in his driveway in Moore in April 2012. According to the FBI, the OSBI’s diligent efforts in identifying a suspect led to OSBI Criminalist Shana Wilson receiving the Biometric Identification Award nearly nine years later.
Kimberly Del Greco with the FBI said the OSBI delivered justice in the form of two palm prints. I didn t do this alone. This was a team effort, Wilson said.
Two palm prints were collected on a truck near Cooksey s body. The Automated Fingerprint Identification System matched those prints to Jason Louis Lane Diamond, who was later found guilty of first-degree manslaughter and sentenced to four years in prison.
