"Leprechauns" in Wisconsin got up to some mischief ahead of St. Patrick's Day, changing the name of New London to New Dublin. The cheeky event kicked off a weeklong Irish fest in the city.

NEW LONDON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) â Itâs that time of year.
New London is now New Dublin for Saint Patrickâs Day.
On Monday, leprechauns from The Shamrock Club of New London changed the signs around town.
Events are planned all week, but the Grand Parade and Irish Fest arenât happening this year because of the pandemic.
âCome on out. Support New Dublin. Support the businesses in town. They could use the help partaking in some of the festivities we are doing. It isnât much, but itâs better than nothing,â said Ryan Lanning of the Shamrock Club of New London.

NEW LONDON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – For the second year in a row, there will be no St. Patrick’s Day parade in New London.
In a statement released today (FRIDAY) The Shamrock Club of New London says the pandemic is to blame.
“The safety of our patrons and club members remains our biggest concern.”
Although the parade is canceled, there still will be other festivities:
