not to mention all the shallow water drilling. these rigs are not going to sit out in the gulf of mexico for six months it costs them $500,000 a day. so they are going to leave. they are going to go to brazil. they are going to go to indonesia. we not only lose the energy, we lose hundreds of thousands of jobs. in 2005 we had a bp explosion here in texas city at a refinery. we closed that refinery down but we didn t close all the refineries in the united states. so investigate bp but don t make a blanket moratorium on all the other individuals, independents and the other oil companies that are doing a good job. clayton: that s a great point, congressman. i want to dive a little bit into the safety problems. the wall street journal this morning reporting that bp in 35% of their rigs uses the historickiest maneuver for drilling wells; so, is it safe to say we should be shutting down all the rigs that bp is involved with and let the other oil companies go ahead and drill in the gulf?
