“Mass vaccination will begin in Uzbekistan these days. We are considering the issue of producing the Sputnik V vaccine in Uzbekistan, where it has been registered in an accelerated order. We greatly appreciate our cooperation in this area,” said Lavrov at the press conference on the results of the meeting with the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov.
Earlier First Deputy Minister of Innovative Development, Director of the Center for Advanced Technologies Shakhlo Turdikulova reported that Uzbekistan plans to use two vaccines for mass vaccination against coronavirus – Russian Sputnik V and Sino-Uzbek ZF-UZ-VAC 2001.

“Two vaccines are being considered now for mass vaccination – Sputnik V and ZF-UZ-VAC 2001,” First Deputy Minister of Innovative Development, Director of the Center for Advanced Technologies Shakhlo Turdikulova said.
She noted that the Ministry of Health will develop and approve a corresponding plan.
“First, the risk groups will receive the vaccine – the elderly, employees of medical and educational institutions, and then the rest of the citizens,” the expert concluded.
Previously it was reported that the Chinese-Uzbek vaccine ZF-UZ-VAC 2001 against coronavirus was six times more effective against the British and South African strains than the American vaccine Moderna.
