COVID Control, Welfare Schemes Mark AP Governance in April Apr 30, 2021, 15:07 IST AMARAVATI: The month of April was marked as a month of welfare by successfully implementing schemes like Vidya Deevena, Vasati Deevena, Sunna Vaddi for both farmers and women besides facing new challenges like vaccination, controlling COVID-19 and Tirupati by-poll. Boosting up confidence in the times of second wave of pandemic, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy started the month by taking the first dose of Covid Vaccination and launching the massive vaccination drive in village and ward secretariats. Further, he directed the officials to ensure that at least six lakh people get vaccinated everyday in the State during Vaccination Utsav between April 11-14 by arranging enough vaccine supplies. The State government has decided to provide a free vaccine for all those who are in the age group of 18-45 years.

As per reports, the jawan was purportedly abducted during the recent encounter of the Maoists with security forces in Chhattisgarh s Bijapur district. The Maoists have sought mediation for his release. Constable Rakeshwar Singh Manhas, of the 210th battalion of CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action), an elite unit of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), went missing on Saturday after the gunfight along the border of Sukma and Bijapur districts.

CM YS Jagan Announces Ex-gratia For Slain AP Jawans in Sukma Maoist Attack

Apr 05, 2021, 15:13 IST AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh Government has announced Rs 30 lakh each to the families of martyred soldiers Routhu Jagadeesh and Shakamuri Murali Krishna who laid down their lives in Bijapur encounter at Chattisgarh. The Chief Minister offered his heartfelt condolences to members of the bereaved families and prayed to God to give strength for the families to overcome the grief. At least 22 security personnel were killed and 31 suffered serious injuries following an exchange of fire between forces and Naxals in Chhattisgarh s Bijapur. Chhattisgarh Police said in a statement that at least 12 Maoists were killed and 16 injured in the gun battle following the ambush. The security forces were ambushed by around 400 Naxals, who surrounded the jawans from three sides and opened fire.
