SC cancels bail of suspected militant’s wife Star Online Report Star Online Report
The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court today cancelled a High Court order that granted bail to Shaila Sharmin Preoty, wife of suspected militant Nurul Islam Marzan one of the masterminds of Holey Artisan Cafe Attack, in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act for militant and terrorist activities.
The apex court, however, asked the trial court concerned to consider bail for Preoty if the trial proceedings of the case against her are not finished in next one year.
A four-member bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain came up with the order following a petition filed by the state, challenging the HC order that granted bail to Preoty.
