The project will cover 8,500 people and the activities include boring of 4 water wells with solar power system, rehabilitation of 18 toilets, construction of 2 new toilets, construction of 3 septic tanks, supply and installation of 12 hand wash basins and construction of medical waste management facilities (only in Shahri-Safa CHC, Zabul).. Challenges/Issues: Thanks to the partners a special WASH Cluster operational presence and capacity mapping has been finalized in June 2021, upon funding highlighting up to 34 NGOs in capacity to respond to the complex crisis (Drought + Conflict escalation + COVID-19) with 1,889 national (WASH) staffs deployable

2021-05-21 13:35:19 GMT2021-05-21 21:35:19(Beijing Time) Xinhua English KABUL, May 21 (Xinhua) About 40 Taliban militants and five policemen were killed in recent violent incidents in Afghanistan as fightings raged in the Asian country, according to multiple sources on Friday. Taliban militants earlier on Friday took control of Jalrez district in eastern Wardak province after days of heavy clashes, local Tolo News TV reported. Citing local sources, the TV channel reported that nearly 40 security forces members were captured after militants seized government office buildings in the district, 60 km west of the capital Kabul. The security forces have been in siege for a couple of days in the district where a key provincial road passes, connecting Kabul to central parts of the country.

5 police, 7 terrorists killed in Afghanistan ANI 21 May 2021, 20:55 GMT+10 Zabul [Afghanistan], May 21 (ANI/Xinhua): Five policemen and seven Taliban terrorists were killed during armed clashes at a police station in Afghanistan s southern province of Zabul Thursday night, the provincial council chief confirmed on Friday. The terrorists armed with guns and rocket propelled grenades stormed a police station in Shahr-i-Safa district at midnight, triggering clashes which lasted for hours, Zabul Provincial Council Chief Ata Jan Haqbayan told Xinhua. A senior police officer in-charge of a police command in the district was among the martyred policemen, the provincial council chief said, adding the policemen in the station fought back and forced the militants to retreat.
