SHAH ALAM (March 9): The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Selangor has arrested a businessman with the title of ‘Datuk Seri’ on suspicion of bribery amounting to RM300,000 from an individual allegedly to help release 22 Chinese nationals detained at the Immigration depot. MACC sources said the 44-year-old man was arrested at about 8pm at the Selangor MACC office today.

JAYA : The 34-year-old founder of controversial dating site Sugarbook.com is expected to be charged in court tomorrow for “circulating a statement that can cause public alarm”.
Selangor police CID chief SAC Datuk Fadzil Ahmat said today that the suspect will face the charges under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code at the Shah Alam Magistrate’s Court at 9am.
The man who was arrested by police at the compound of a plush condominium, the Icon Residence on Persiaran Dutamas in the evening of Feb 17 was remanded for seven days on Friday.

KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 12): The online guilty plea system for traffic offences (e-PG) will be expanded to the Magistrate’s Court 13 (Traffic) at the Kuala Lumpur Courts Complex from Feb 15 until Feb 19. According to a statement from the Office of the Federal Court’s Chief Registrar today, traffic offenders (OKS) whose cases are registered at the court could browse the e-PG system at https://ecourt.kehakiman.gov.my.

PUTRAJAYA: Motorists with traffic summons issued in Shah Alam or Selangor need not have to appear physically in court to make their guilty plea as it can be done through long distance communication technology, effective Feb 2.
This followed the launch of the online guilty plea system for traffic offences or e-PG System, according to a statement from the Office of the Federal Court Chief Registrar.
It said the e-PG System will be applied by the Shah Alam Magistrate Court in Selangor for all traffic cases registered in the Shah Alam Magistrate Court 3 beginning Feb 2 to 5, 2021.
