LAHORE: Normality began returning in the country, especially in Lahore, on Tuesday night after eight days of violent clashes between Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) protestors and police, as the religious group activists ended their last sit-in at Multan Road in front of its head office, Masjid-e-Rehmatul Lil Alameen.
It opened the road for vehicular traffic, following signing of another agreement with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government earlier Monday morning.
TLP Vice President Dr Shafiq Ameeni, heading a three-member negotiating team, held talks with the detained party chief Hafiz Saad Rizvi Monday night. He later announced that sit-in was being ended, blockades being removed and asked the party workers to go home after the government tabled a resolution in the National Assembly, as decided in the agreement.

LAHORE Eleven Pakistani police officers seized by supporters of the proscribed Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) as part of their campaign to get the French ambassador expelled have been released, the interior minister said Monday.
Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said the police had been released early Monday after negotiations with the TLP, which the government banned last week after effectively labeling it a terrorist organization, according to AFP report.

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid in the early hours of Monday announced that after the first round of talks with the recently proscribed Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), 11 policemen who were taken hostage in Lahore have been released. Talks have started with the TLP. The first round went well and the second round will take place after sehri, Rashid said in a video message. They have released 11 policemen who were made hostages and have gone into the Rehmatul Lil Alameen Mosque [Yateem Khana Chowk]. The police have also stepped back.
