Doctors and paramedical staff of Dogra hospital, Bara on Friday observed a complete strike over maltreatment of their constituency’s Member National Assembly (MNA).
The medical staff of the health center gave up their official duties in all Outdoor Patient Departments (OPDs) however emergency was kept open and doctors were available to provide medical assistance to casualties.
A demonstration under the banner of the provincial doctor association was also organized in front of the hospital that was attended by a number of health staff, flaying the member parliamentarian for his misbehaves.
Incharge of the health center, Dr Jahangir Afridi said that, Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Shafiq Afridi inaugurated Covid 19 vaccination counter in the hospital that annoyed the MNA Iqbal Afridi, following which he along with two dozen supporters came to the hospital misbehaved and threatened the in-charge doctor of consequences.

BARA: Office-bearers of the Bara Press Club took oath here on Sunday.Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) from Khyber tribal district Shafiq Afridi, as chief guest, administered oath to the office-bearers.
Political leaders, journalists, traders and tribal elders were also present at the ceremony. MPA Shafiq Afridi said that the Bara-based journalists had suffered and several were even martyred in militancy.
“It is the main duty and responsibility of journalists to convey the right information to the people,” he said, adding that the government would facilitate the local journalists.
He said the government wished to promote education in Bara subdivision where tribal children were deprived of the facility.

BARA: Member Provincial Assembly (MNA) Muhammad Shafiq Afridi said on Friday that the government would reopen all closed premises that were shut in the days of militancy in Khyber tribal district.
Speaking at the reopening ceremony of Qambarabad Market in Bara Bazaar, he said the government’s top priority was to reopen closed business and trade centres.
He added the security forces had closed the Qambarabad Market 15 years ago due to militancy.
“We want to make Bara a hub of business once again,” the MPA said, adding that Bara bazaar was a famous trade centre in Pakistan.
He said the tribal people’s infrastructure was destroyed by militants and military operations.

Cracks appear to be emerging in the opposition in the provincial assembly after two lawmakers from the protest camp, set up outside the chief minister’s office in Peshawar, met with the provincial chief executive.
Members of the opposition benches in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Assembly set up on Tuesday a protest camp outside Chief Minister Mahmood Khan’s office to protest the government’s reluctance to issue them development funds.
