This happened on shady glen terrace in Capitol Heights just before 10 00 last night. Officers were trying to stop a suspect in a series of violent crimes. The suspect drove off and jumped out of a car with a gun. The officer shot around three times and hit the suspect in the arm. A gun was recovered from the scene there. That officer involved is now on the standard leave for investigation. The search is on for the gunman who opened fire at a Basketball Court near the Hamilton Rec Center in northwest washington. The Man Told Police he saw two people opening his backpack while he was playing on that court around 7 00 last night. When he questioned them, one pulled the gun and took off with the bag and what witnesses say was some sort of motorized bike. No one was hurt.
